You know how I was a reading machine in April, well I did not keep that up in May. I knew that starting back to work would keep me from reading as much, but this month I was just not feeling reading. You see 4 books here. That’s not too bad…well one of them I didn’t even finish because I couldn’t get through it. I did manage to read 2 books from my 2015 Reading List, so I think it was a successful month.
For May I read…
What A Girl Wants: as you’ll see in the next book I wasn’t thrilled with this book, but I did manage to finish it. I just don’t like book likes this anymore. I thought I could, but tastes change as you get older…though I love Young Adult fiction so much more now that I’m older.
She’s Out of Control: this was the book I just couldn’t finish. There’s a third book in this series and I’m not even attempting to read it. It’s not that it’s a poorly written book. I just couldn’t relate at all and I found the main character to be so annoying. I read some of Billerback’s books before I was married and I was hopelessly single. I could relate back then, but I think being married and a little older now I just couldn’t relate. Plus the main character in this book is not the same from her past books I read and I just did not like her.
Rejection Proof: I received this book from Blogging for Books, and you can read what I thought about in my review post. I did really enjoy this book!
Divergent: I don’t know why I waited so long to get on the Divergent series train. I loved this book! I just got the second one out of the library, so now I need to block out time to read. I lost track of time reading the first book and stayed up way too late because I just needed to know what happened. Young Adult fiction is my productivity kryptonite. If I need to be productive then you cannot let me sit down and read anything that’s YA fiction. I will get nothing done until I finish the book.
What did you read in May? Are there any book genres that you just get totally lost in?
